What is Time: An absolute reality or illusion

From the moment humans set foot on Earth, time has governed our existence.

Over centuries, we’ve invented countless ways to measure it — from sundials and ornate clocks to the digital displays on our mobile screens.

Time’s importance extends beyond humans; even animals and plants base their lives around its cycles. Birds don’t fly at night, and plants perform photosynthesis only in daylight.

Bound by time’s constraints, we strive to control it, yet ultimately, it controls us.

We are prisoners of the present, chained by our past, and forever occupied with the future.

But have we ever truly pondered what time is?

Is it the ticking of a clock, or the movement of the sun across the sky? Is it even real, or is it, as Einstein suggested, an illusion?

Let’s dive into this mystery. Learning about time, especially through Einstein’s work, left me amazed and even shocked. We all know Einstein from high school, but few of us fully grasp his contributions to our understanding of time.

He transformed our perception through his two theories of relativity: special and general. Though his Nobel Prize was awarded for the photoelectric effect, his work on time was equally revolutionary.
