Yes, Your Comments Matter — They Empower Writers.

I think all the writers here on Medium would agree with me that a comment on their post cheers them up — let’s leave negative comments for now — but I think they should also make you happy. At least someone took their time out for you in this fast-paced world.

Is this positive push momentary or a permanent subconscious influence?

If you ask me as a writer, it’s both. A comment for us writers is like delicious, tasty food, providing instant delight and long-term sustenance as well. Not to forget the influence they can have on us, which is very similar to the physical changes we go through because of the type of food we eat. So yeah, a comment can have both short- and long-term effects on us as writers.

And The reason for this is that it takes a serious amount of hard work to craft a good piece. To accomplish this, we have to act in multiple ways. Firstly, to be that positive enforcer to get us to write, and then to be that boss who demands perfection, being a strict critic.

During this process, it can get pretty tiring for us as writers and lead us to continuously question our ability to write. To counteract this, reassurance…
